Optimal Viewing

The website is best viewed at screen resolutions of 1024 x 768 or above. If you wish to see more text in your browser's viewing window, please consider setting the text size to "smallest" in your browser's settings (View > Text Size).

For your convenience, most of the hyperlinks open in a new window. This requires that the popup blocker be turned off for the learning site.

Cookies

Moodle requires cookies to be enabled. The cookies are used only for two reasons, as explained below with an extract from the Moodle Help Page

Two cookies are used by this site.

The essential one is the session cookie, usually called MoodleSession. You must allow this cookie into your browser to provide continuity and maintain your login from page to page. When you log out or close the browser this cookie is destroyed (in your browser and on the server).

The other cookie is purely for convenience, usually called something like MOODLEID. It just remembers your username within the browser. This means when you return to this site the username field on the login page will be already filled out for you. It is safe to refuse this cookie - you will just have to retype your username every time you log in.

About SCORM Activities

SCORM (Sharable Content Object Resource Module) is an e-learning standard to enable tracking of e-learning content and portability of e-learning content between CMSs. Software and tools developed to meet SCORM standards support tracking of an individual learner’s content. This capability provides features which enable the learner to start where they left off in a learning object. Additional features include the tracking of performance on quizzes and the recording of responses to surveys.

We have used SCORM activities to deliver presentations, quizzes and surveys. The learner can leave a presentation mid-way and return to it at a later time to continue from where he left off. Quizzes and surveys require completion in a single attempt – here, SCORM functions track the responses and assess the final grade.
