Dr. Shalini Periyalwar is the founder and principal of SHAPE innovations inc. She brings a combination of extensive industry research experience and academic experience.

SHAPE innovations inc has access to collaborative expertise in the areas of learning, product design, implementation and management consulting, based on the needs of the project. Our advisory team comprises industry experts in training, technology and management.

Bio

At Nortel Networks, Shalini led teams which contributed to wireless product design/development, advanced technology and standards, including the design of high capacity broadband wireless networks leveraging OFDM and MIMO technologies. She has over 20 patents related to advanced wireless concepts. She completed the Nortel Leadership Edge Program and has been the recipient of several performance recognition awards throughout her career.

Shalini holds an Adjunct Research Professor appointment in the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering at Carleton University in Ottawa. She has published over 30 journal and conference papers spanning biomedical engineering and wireless communications.

Shalini received the PhD degree in Electrical Engineering in 1992 from Dalhousie University (then Technical University of Nova Scotia (TUNS)), Canada. She held an NSERC-Industry funded position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at TUNS from 1991 - 1994, following which she joined Nortel (then Bell Northern Research). Since 2006, Shalini has been consulting and building SHAPE innovations inc.
